What We Collect
- Numeric responses (1–5 or N/A) per dimension. Raw response rows are not displayed on public score pages.
- Optional free-text comments and notes, used for moderation and improving the instrument.
- System category, your stated relationship to the system, timestamp, and device token for anti-abuse.
- If you create an account: email, hashed password, and an internal account link for signed-in ratings.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Real names (not required to rate).
- Location data, IP addresses for scoring, or device fingerprints.
- Third-party tracking pixels or advertising identifiers.
How We Use Data
- To compute a subject's current public signal.
- A subject's early signal may appear after its first accepted rating. With a single contributor, that aggregate represents a very small sample and may be inferable from that contribution.
- To help detect, limit, and review coordinated or fraudulent ratings.
- To evaluate aggregate patterns that may support research, outreach, stewardship, public analysis, and future improvement work by The Solar Guild.
What We Never Do
- Sell data to third parties.
- Run advertisements.
- Display raw response rows, free-text notes, or rater identities on public score pages.
- Publish raw written comments as public findings.
- Allow paid influence on scores.
Data Retention
Ratings are retained indefinitely to maintain aggregate score integrity, identity weighting, and time decay. Anonymous ratings use a pseudonymous device token for abuse controls and cannot be individually retrieved through the public site or removed after submission.
